RPF Syllabus 2024 : Railway Protection Force (RPF/RPSF) has been released the Official RPF Syllabus 2024 for the Post of Constable (Exe.) and Sub-Inspector. Which is given below.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of 3 Phase for the Post of Constable (Exe.) and Sub-Inspector :

  • Phase-I : CBT Examination
  • Phase-II : PET/ PST
  • Phase-III : Document Verification

Phase-I : Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • The standard of examination for Sub-Inspector will be of Graduation Level and for Constable of Matriculation (10th Standard) Level.
  • It will be necessary to obtain 35% marks (30% marks by SC and ST candidates) to qualify in the CВТ.
  • Details of time allowed and number of questions for CBT shall be decided by the RRB. For the purpose of guidance, however, the following norms can be preferred.

General Awareness Syllabus :

Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society; to test knowledge of current events and such matters of everyday observation and experience as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to Indian History, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports, General Science, etc.

Arithmetic Syllabus :

Questions on Number systems, whole numbers, decimal and fractions and relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, use of tables and graphs. mensuration, time and distance, ratio and proportion etc.

General Intelligence & reasoning :

Questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning, etc.

Marking :

  • Candidates will be required to answer all questions and shall be awarded 01 (one) mark for each correct answer.
  • 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer (negative marking).
  • No mark shall be awarded or deducted for questions not attempted.

Phase-II : Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement

The qualifying criteria of Physical Efficiency Test (PET) shall be as under :

NOTE : Ex-servicemen shall be exempted from PET. However, they will have to undergo PMT.

A Candidate must qualify in all Tests as per above norms to be eligible for consideration.

The qualifying criteria of Physical Measurement shall be as under :


Phase-III : Document Verification
The following documents in original, as well as their self-attested photocopies, will be required for verification in respect of candidates who qualify in PET/PMT.

  • A. Matriculation Certificate as proof of age.
  • B. Graduation/Matriculation Certificate as proof of educational qualification.
  • C. Caste Certificate (for SC, ST & OBC candidates) in the format prescribed for employment under Central Government.
  • D. Discharge Certificate for ex-Servicemen.
  • E. Two copies of self-attested colour photograph.
  • F. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the present employer in case of serving Govt. Employees.
  • G. Domicile Certificate wherever Applicable.
  • H. Certificate belonging to Economically Weaker Section in the format prescribed for employment under Central Government.
Those candidates who do not appear for document verification will not be considered in the final selection, irrespective of their performance in written examination and PET/PMT.
